This collection begins with an article by Janusz Wigniewski and Tristan Kingsley in which they discuss the present state of knowledge in the field of politological studies (particularly in the American and British science) in a wide context of social studies especially that of sociology and philosophy. In the 20th century from the philosophy of mathematics, can be distinguished not only definite lines of studies such as, e.g. logicism, constructivism, formalism, structuralism and the like, but also there was an ideological discourse between idealism and materialism.

Marxist materialism in the philosophy of mathematics. also in the ideological aspect, is discussed by TristanKingsley on the example of life and research activity of the Dutch mathematician Dirk Jan Struik. As is well known the short outline of the history of mathematics written by him has been translated into many languages. Struik as a Marxist and materialist drew attention in the history of mathematics to the many relations between economic, social and spiritual and cultural life (the so called sociologisation of mathematics). This Dutch scientist is considered as a co-founder of the sociology of porn movie mathematics which for him was also an important component of "the history of ideas" (also in civilisations and cultures outside of Europe).
